New York, January 20, 2016 – Thalēs Capital Partners (“Thalēs”) is pleased to announce that it has signed an agreement with State Street Global Advisors (“SSGA”) to deliver a suite of SSGA’s cash management solutions to its clients. Traditional cash management has been transformed dramatically given recent regulatory overhaul and market conditions, however institutional investors are still driven by three fundamental objectives: security of principal, liquidity and yield.

The world of cash investing has changed more in recent years than in the 40+ previous years since the introduction of the first money market fund in the 1970s. Regulatory changes include: overnight & weekly liquidity thresholds; redemption gates & liquidity fees; floating NAVs; Basel III liquidity ratio implications, etc. This has affected all Prime Brokers and Future Commission Merchants, and has forced them to change how they deal with customer cash balances.

Institutional investors are challenged to recalibrate their approach to liquid short-term securities (including money market funds) that have been the foundation of their investments and operations. SSGA has long been an industry leader in institutional cash management, and has been an innovator in providing solutions considering each customer’s unique situation and risk/liquidity preference.

“Accessing SSGA’s broad range of cash management solutions helps our Institutional clients optimize the management of their short term cash and liquidity needs”, said Thalēs’ CEO Marc Cohen.

Tim O’Shea, CFO of Thalēs added: “We are excited to work with SSGA and believe that our clients will benefit by having SSGA cash management data added to Harvest, our client facing portal, along with their clearing broker(s) trades, positions and cash balances. This provides Thalēs’ clients with a comprehensive view, delivered as data or various customized reports, of their entire portfolio in our portal.”
